Troll Mother

Personal work for my IP, Nightfall.

In the depths of the forests, mountains and swamplands of the world, all manner of creatures have found a home and a place to dwell. One of these is the mysterious troll. There are many different species of trolls, each perfectly adapted to it's environment, and they can be found all over, if you look hard enough. Not many can tell tales of ever meeting one however, due to their secluded lifestyle. They mostly keep to themselves or with their close family, and rarely wander unless food is scarce.

The elder females of these families are sometimes referred to as Mothers, and hold the highest status of the group. They are in charge of the cooking, which makes them very much appreciated amongst their kin, for trolls have an unending appetite. Trolls are not known for their intelligence (quite the contrary), but the female trolls especially seem to transform with age, in ways that their male counterparts do not. Over the centuries, they learn vital lessons of life which they then teach the younger females who will one day become Mothers themselves. There are even tales of the most ancient among them to harness the power of magic and foresight, which has enabled them to protect their kin from harm and ensured the survival of their race.
