Troll Hut

First piece of 2025! Personal work for my IP, Nightfall.

Driven to the depths of the swamps and forests of the world, troll-kin seek refuge in areas neglected by the outside world, at least for the most part. Hunted for their hides and organs, which are said to have powerful regenerative properties, the trolls have taken on and adapted to a more secluded lifestyle to help protect the young.

Trolls see little value in the pursuit of riches in the same way as many others do, but instead find beauty in the simple things in life. Hunting, gathering and tending to their small gardens provide most of the necessities in life. Some younger, more curious and explorative trolls enjoy wandering greater distances into the wilds to seek knowledge and to bring back their finding to the tribe, but generally they don't stray far from home, should their families need aid.

That said, these creatures are not completely without a sense of craftsmanship. While their dwellings are ramshackle and created from whatever can be found nearby, the elders enjoy embellishing their surroundings with various trinkets created from bone, hide, dried flesh as well as colorful fruit and berries. No hut is like the other, and the trolls take great pride in their simple yet comfortable homes.
